Canon Announces the EOS R8 Mark II: In-Body Image Stabilization Comes to Canon’s Lightweight Full-Frame Lineup

Canon Canada has officially unveiled the Canon EOS R8 Mark II, bringing major upgrades to one of their most popular entry-level full-frame mirrorless cameras.  Designed for hybrid creators, travel photographers, and anyone upgrading to full-frame, the R8 Mark II packs professional-grade imaging features into a remarkably compact body.

• Lightweight Full-Frame Body: Weighing in at approximately 1.2 lbs with dimensions of 5.17” x 3.54” x 3.13", it is currently the lightest EOS body equipped with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS).
• 24.2-Megapixel Full-Frame CMOS Sensor: Delivers clean images in low light with native ISO speeds expandable up to 102,400 and pronounced full-frame background bokeh.
• 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS): Features Coordinated Control with IS-equipped lenses to reduce camera shake, alongside Peripheral Coordinated Control to reduce corner blur on wide-angle lenses.
• Dual Pixel CMOS AF II: Full-area subject tracking covering people, animals, and vehicles, with improved subject tenacity and Register People Priority.
• Uncropped Video: Record uncropped 6K-oversampled 4K at up to 60p, as well as Full HD at 180p for slow-motion recording with audio support.
